The Goddard School - Apex Mural
The mural spans a 12ft x 16ft space and is a supporting element to the 6' fish tank that was just put in. I think it came out well and it was nice to get out of a 7 year mural drought. I want to thank The Goddard School for giving me the opportunity to do this with full artistic freedom. I will post process shots soon.

A Drive Down Toxic Thruway.
I've had this idea in my head to combine my love of surf/skate art, cartoons, hot rods and monsters. There's probably more I can do to this piece but it's time to move on. I will be doing more of these. This was a lot of fun.

"Space Docking Bay"- Two goals: One, I ended up watching some Shaddy Safadi onepixelbrush and wanted to try out his essential brushes. Two, I wanted to focus on strong shape making and working within layer masks. I meant to add other ships but it the abandonment worked out. Happy accident.

Self Portrait Update
This one is still an ongoing project that I keep forgetting about. I am looking to start cleaning up the ceiling area but I'm at a point where I need to be careful not to over detail the non focal points. As i'm looking at this, I can tell which places on the face I have held off doing. Time to tighten those up with another pass. I'll post the final when I'm done.

She's finished. It was great for a good practice piece. Next time I will make sure the proportions are handled BEFORE painting ;)

"Black Skull"- Not original at all BUT I do like the glass treatment on this one.
"Water bending instrument player"- I like the energy. Really wanted to get that hit where the guitar soloist is lifting up and bending the strings.

Didn't really sell the "hanging lifeless" effect but I think I'm going to keep working on this one at a later date. Getting the anatomy passable ate up a chunk of time. Inspired by Daniel Dociu's Puppet illustrations.

Tuesday Spitties
30 minute spitpaints:
"Charon"- Based off the idea that if souls weren't buried with coins that they would have to wait 100 years until Charon would allow passage. I like the atmospherics in this one but need to refine the silhouettes of the souls to be a bit clear in the foreground.
"School girl with astronaut helmet"- Well..I told myself that I was going to try and do more character work this year. Ran out of time messing to get the eyes right. Bounce lighting and visor reflections are really lacking to give it realism. A tattooed bar code or insignia on her forehead could be cool too. She seems more womanly than child like.
